Affordable – A common misconception is that going green is expensive. While the average additional cost of building green is approximately 2%, it’s usually more than offset by the immediate savings of lower monthly operating costs.

Our Bio
GreenTek Consulting, LLC, established in 2006, has become a highly distinguished green building consulting firm dedicated to promoting and facilitating sustainable building practices, renewable technology and energy efficiency in a customized and cost-effective way. Their synergistic and comprehensive approach continues to result in buildings that maximize their potential to perform.
Their highly skilled team, led by founder and principal, David Mann, has experience with projects ranging from residences in New York’s Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard and Fairfield County CT to affordable housing, manufacturing and medical facilities. They are proud to announce that they are nearing completion on what is anticipated to be the first LEED certified dental facility on the East Coast.
As a valuable addition, their green events expert, Shannon McAvoy, brings her experience in planning corporate and social events, expertise in customizing and executing sustainable and cost-saving plans, and her intense passion for the environment to GreenTek.
GreenTek is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, 1% For The Planet, and a founding member of the Connecticut Alliance for Sustainable Enterprise.
David Mann, a LEED Accredited Professional, received his Masters in Architecture from Harvard University and has over 15 years of experience in design, development, construction and financial analysis. He was formerly a principal of Jupiter Atlantic, a South East Florida real estate development firm; and has worked as a technology and business financial analyst for a New York City private equity and hedge fund. David was a senior associate of THINK – the runner-up in the World Trade Center Re-Design. His other design and construction experience includes a diverse range of projects from the Southwest Capitol of France and the Whitehall (Staten Island Ferry Terminal), to NYC offices, restaurant renovations and homes in New York’s Hamptons, Arizona and Connecticut. David lives with his two children in Westport, CT where he serves as the Vice Chairman of the Green Task Force and sits on the Architectural Review Board. He is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Connecticut Alliance for Sustainable Enterprise.
